Meet the QuickFrame Team: Aylin

Welcome to our Meet the Team series, where we feature guest contributions to our blog from members of the QuickFrame team. This month’s post highlights Alyin Valdes, the Maker Partnerships & Engagement Manager.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hello, my name is Aylin (i-lean) and I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I graduated with a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from The University of Texas at Austin as a first-generation student. I love fashion, traveling, trying new foods, and trying to live life to the fullest.

What’s your role here at QuickFrame? And what does it entail?

I am the Maker Partnerships & Engagement Manager, so I help research and curate lists of potential partners, while also vetting and build relationships. Now, I’ve started to help grow our engagement by helping support our socials to get our Makers excited and engaged with QF!

What’s your favorite part of your role?

Being able to build relationships and get to know our Makers is my favorite part. I especially love watching all of their spots! I think it’s so cool to see how many different concepts and ideas they come up with to advertise a certain product.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

Women’s History Month, to me, means highlighting all women and appreciating all the accomplishments different types of women have made and will continue to make. It’s super empowering to me because I have a lot of goals I want to accomplish, and being able to see people like me achieve great things and other fantastic women in my leadership empowers me to never give up. I live by “If someone tells you no, you’re talking to the wrong person.” And as a young woman who is also Gen Z, I always tell others to dream big, because it will happen!

I know we’re here at this unique intersection of creative and tech — can you tell us a bit about how you got here?

I actually never would have thought I’d be working within an AdTech company! I went to film school and have always loved the business side of things and producing. Once I saw this opportunity, I knew I’d be perfect for the role with my past experience of producing, client communication, and project management.

You’ve been on set with our video creators in the past. Can you tell us a bit about that experience?

It was so fun. I don’t get to go on set often, so it was really exciting and made me really miss the chaos of having to fix all the things that go wrong on the day of filming!

Most recently, you were at SXSW with a few other MNTN and QF team members. How was that experience? What was your biggest takeaway?

My biggest takeaway from the panelists, which was a topic that kept coming up and stuck with me, was to “understand your why.” Why are you doing this? If you understand your why, others will as well. They’ll see the authenticity of what you are trying to do. With that trust, you’re able to build a community, which is so important for retention. Since I was born and raised in Austin, I’ve seen SXSW change so much; it’s amazing how much it’s grown and all the opportunities and networking that you get to do and experience during the festival. I got to network with many different people who work at the brands and companies I use on a daily basis, so I thought that was really amazing.

Outside of QF, what other passions or hobbies that inform who you are and what you create?

I love writing screenplays, attending comedy shows, and trying new food spots. I just started traveling to different places around the world, my next big trip is definitely going to be to Egypt!

Is there anything else you’d like to share or mention?

Continue learning in all different ways! You can learn by taking different courses, learning from peers, traveling, or even from social media. I was given this piece of advice that I love to share with others: “You can get everything taken away from you, but what you will never lose is your education and what you have learned.”

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Alyin is the Maker Partnerships & Engagement Manager on the Creative Operations Team at QuickFrame.
