Video Marketing Creatives We Love (Nov. 2020)

Keeping up with the latest video marketing trends is difficult. And in a content landscape that moves faster and is more crowded than ever before, making sure your creatives are captivating and fresh is a must.

To stimulate your creative brainstorming, we’re starting a monthly series showcasing videos we’ve recently made that we absolutely love. This month, we’re spotlighting a quick-turn post-production project in three languages, a powerful piece about the historical marginalization of African Americans (narrated by Whoopi Goldberg), a seasonal and versatile cinemagraph, and two live action brand spots produced in recent weeks.

Quick-Turn Holiday Social Videos
Etsy

The Goal.

Etsy needed to kick off their holiday marketing plan with a fall-focused social campaign on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. They wanted to feature real Etsy sellers and actual products available for purchase on the site.

The Process.

Because Etsy already had video footage and existing photography, QuickFrame was able to turn around completed video assets in just over a week’s time with a post-production studio in our Production Marketplace. Etsy was so pleased with the videos that they asked us to create translated versions to target French and German audiences, which we were able to deliver in 24 hours. In total, QuickFrame produced 36 deliverables—including cutdowns—for an affordable fixed price.

Why We Love It.

This project is an excellent demonstration of just how quickly you can make timely videos using post-production techniques. Using assets you already have (or stock footage), you can have ready-to-publish videos in just a few days with relevant messaging that feels right for any cultural moment.

Performance Marketing and eCommerce Video Ads
Native

The Goal.

Hopping on the pumpkin spice latte train, aluminum- and paraben-free deodorant company Native needed eye-catching creative to showcase a seasonal product.

The Process.

A Brooklyn-based QuickFrame maker delivered on Native’s ask, creating a dynamic cinemagraph that gives us all the autumnal feels.

Why We Love It.

Cinemagraphs are incredibly versatile and can be used across multiple channels in your product marketing plan. For acquisition/display, this cross between a photo and a video is a surefire way to capture attention and get your viewer to stop scrolling. On eCommerce sites, cinemagraphs can drive conversions by bringing a product to life at the point of purchase.

Narrative Animated Video Production
What America Owes (ABC)

The Goal.

After working on educational segments for ABC’s Good Morning America, QuickFrame was tapped to create a series of animated videos for Nightline. The news program was planning 3 educational videos on the U.S.’s history of reparations to marginalized groups.

The Process.

Nightline had scripts and voiceovers already completed when QuickFrame got to work. We brought the concept to life with a Ukraine-based animation studio from our Production Marketplace, methodically ideating visuals for each line of text. With access to ABC’s creative library of historical photographs, we worked closely with Nightline to finesse the piece through each step of the animation production process: storyboards, animatics, and final animation.

The whole project—3 unique animated mini-docs, each about 2 minutes long—took just 6 weeks to complete.

Why We Love It.

This is just one of many pieces we’ve created with ABC during a multi-year partnership across several business units. The long-term relationship has given us a fluency in ABC’s culture and objectives, streamlining all of our creative collaborations.

COVID-era Live Action Video Production
Backcountry

The Goal.

Backcountry, an outdoor gear and apparel retailer, needed help realizing a multi-spot campaign featuring products from their in-house brand for the first time. Their internal creative team was tied up with other projects, so Backcountry called QuickFrame to help execute.

The Process.

Backcountry provided QuickFrame with scripts and storyboards for 6 different concepts, each featuring a different item from their product line. Working with a Los Angeles-based production house in our network, we brought Backcountry’s ideas to life in just 3 weeks, producing highly polished video ads for YouTube, paid social, and eCommerce.

QuickFrame ultimately produced 6 different video concepts in 2 cutdowns each for a total of 12 deliverables.

Why We Love It.

This project is a perfect video marketing example of how live action production doesn’t have to be off the table because of localized coronavirus-related restrictions. QuickFrame’s Production Marketplace is global, so even if there are local production restrictions in place in your home city, we can execute your project in an area that is less impacted.

To stay compliant with COVID-19 production protocols, QuickFrame hired a rapid testing team to test the local cast and crew, as well as the Backcountry representatives who came to set for the shoot. During production, all L.A. COVID-19 guidelines were adhered to, including having a COVID-19 safety officer on set for the entirety of the shoot.

COVID-era Live Action Video Production
Nurx

The Goal.

Health start-up Nurx wanted to introduce a new at-home testing offering while fighting against the stigma associated with STIs.

The Process.

After a number of successful previous projects together, Nurx reached out to QuickFrame to tackle this live action spot. In just 5 weeks, QuickFrame took the idea from page to screen, producing a broadcast-quality commercial for Linear TV and YouTube.

Why We Love It.

Despite being a DTC, Nurx is investing in high-quality brand creative to raise awareness through more traditional channels while communicating important messages and tackling stigmas surrounding sexual health. With the help of a trusted L.A.-based production house in our maker network, QuickFrame was able to ensure that all COVID regulations were followed during this live action production.
